|A Project to Integrate Traditional Turkish Art into Today’s Visual Art Education: “Ebru” (Turkish Marbling) Case
|Marbling is a traditional Turkish art in which dyes are shaped into desired patterns on the surface of a liquid which are, later, transferred onto a piece of paper by using special methods. The outstanding applications of this art were available on book covers, as page ornamentations and as the backgrounds for calligraphy.
This study aims at introducing this art to primary school students and at finding effective ways to integrate Marbling art into daily life through applications as ornamentations on everyday products and materials. It also tries to create opportunities to develop new perspectives regarding this art.
The subjects of this study will be primary school students and the data will be collected through case study method. The results of this ongoing study will be presented and discussed during the presentation at the symposium.
