The conscious modelling of the sculpture degree curriculum as a succinct visual art research pedestal of definition/development of traditional studio art training is a recognition of the role of content and context. This paper interrogates the development of the sculpture garden at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria as an experimental “site” and its contribution to the propagation of public sculpture in Nigeria.
